No standard diet will help you lose weight – because everyone is different!
As a dedicated doctor, working mother of two and lover of good food, I know how hard it is to always eat healthy and keep an eye on calories. It takes time and energy that you often don’t have. Especially in our “stressed” society. But obesity is gradually spreading like an epidemic, even in Germany. Every second adult is already overweight. What is even more serious are the diseases that go hand in hand with it. It is high time to counteract this. Because a smart and healthy diet not only gives the body a slim silhouette, but also true superpowers. It is the best way to live longer. With a targeted, healthy diet, fasting and sufficient exercise as well as enough sleep, many of our so-called lifestyle diseases such as high blood pressure, diabetes mellitus, cardiovascular diseases and obesity can be combated.
There is probably no shortage of dietary recommendations
There is certainly no shortage of diet recommendations. There is the paleo diet, ketogenic dietintermittent fasting, the Atkins diet, the FDH diet, low-carb and no-carb, the Glyx diet, the Chrono diet and much more. If you can’t manage it on your own, you can turn to the WeightWatchers, who are now just called WW (sounds much slimmer and more modern) or to all the fitness bloggers who know the exact way to give your body a handsome six-pack in just 8 weeks (both men and women). And for those who can’t achieve or maintain their ideal weight? Yes, it’s going to be tough for them. In the truest sense of the word. Because, as after every good diet, the yo-yo effect sets in. Anyone who has ever lost 10 kg and gained 15 kg over time can tell you a thing or two about it.
Losing weight: individual, healthy and permanent
Being overweight can become a real health problem. That is why I have developed a special weight loss program for my patients. It’s not a standard program that would sell well in a book, but individual detective work. In my “Lose weight individually with Dr. Immer” program, I explicitly address each patient’s hormone status, metabolism, thyroid function, micronutrient supply, mitochondrial activity, intestinal health, blood values and much more. All of these parameters can help or hinder you to lose weight – no matter how hard you try. There is no weight loss standard. Everyone is different. What makes some people lose weight and feel great, makes others weak and miserable.

The first question I always ask in my weight loss program is: Why can’t someone reach their ideal weight? I assume that very few people lack knowledge and willpower. But all other emotional, biochemical, hormonal, environmental or even epgenetic aspects are hidden. These are often the reasons why people don’t lose weight, even though they have already tried a lot.
